Announcement: the winners of the Otto Mønsted Foundation’s MADE Award 2023

The winners of the Otto Mønsted Foundation’s MADE Award 2023 have just been announced. We are pleased to present the first and second prize recipients for research that solves or has the potential to solve industrial challenges. The awardees receive a total of DKK 150,000 in support of their research that will lead to a more sustainable future.

Pravin Kumar Mallick MADE PhD from DTU and Juanita Gallego Dávila, MADE PhD from Aalborg University won the 1st and 2nd prizes, respectively, under this year’s Otto Mønsted Foundation’s MADE Award.

Denmark’s largest producer of coffee, BKI Foods, has been on a 20-year long journey to digitize their manufacturing process and make it more environmentally friendly. Among the results are the invention of a reusable coffee bag, a new roasting process which reduces energy consumption by 20 pct. and a QR-system which eliminates failures in the packaging process by 95 pct.
