Two days dedicated to the skills that rarely fit into your everyday PhD or postdoc programme. Develop your presentation technique, work on a real manufacturing challenge, and expand your network across Danish universities.
- 3 nov2026

As a PhD or postdoctoral researcher, most of your time goes into the research itself. The skills that help bring your research further, such as presenting with impact, engaging with industry, and building a professional network, often fall outside of a standard academic programme. This workshop is dedicated to exactly those competencies.
Day one focuses on communication. Nastja Arcel, communication and presentation expert at Perform by Arcel, will lead a hands-on interactive workshop on presentation techniques, body language, and vocal delivery. Later in the day, Emre Yildiz, Smart Factory Leader at NOV and former MADE Digital PhD in collaboration with Vestas, will share his experience of working at the intersection of academia and industrial challenges.
Day two centers on real manufacturing challenges provided by VELUX. Working in groups, you will apply your research perspectives to the challenge, present your solutions using your newly acquired presentation skills, and exchange knowledge with fellow researchers from universities across Denmark.
The workshop is the first of two. The second takes place in autumn 2027, and you can attend each workshop independently.
Who can participate?
PhD and postdoctoral researchers within manufacturing technology from Danish universities.
The workshop is facilitated by MADE and funded by Karl Pedersen og Hustrus Industrifond.
