Kamstrup, a Danish manufacturer of smart meters for energy and water, has been using production data to develop a fully automated production plant in Stilling, Denmark.

With production data it was possible to make a connection between the order placement system and all the necessary production equipment such as machines, robots, mobile robots etc.
At a MADE Innovation Conference – the first conference in the new Danish Innovation Network for Advanced Manufacturing operated by MADE – Flemming Møller Hansen, Global Head of Manufacturing Concepts at Kamstrup, told about the company’s use of production data to create the new manufacturing processes.
The conference emphasized how many Danish manufacturing companies are finding it hard to start using data from production, products and equipment to make the best possible decisions about how organize the production.
