How the Danish robotics industry is addressing Industry 4.0 and digitization

With digitization and new technology comes new possibilities – but also new challenges for companies.

At MADE’s General Assembly and Event 2018, digitization, automation and robotics were the topics of discussion.

Rohitashwa Pant, Senior Vice President of Industry 4.0 Accelerator Team at KUKA, told about the journey of KUKA and the challenge of moving from classical robotics solutions to Industry 4.0 solutions and digital automation.

Thomas Visti, CEO and Founder of Mobile Industrial Robots (MIR), a robotics company from the Odense robotics ecosystem with roots in the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), gave a Danish SME approach to Industry 4.0 and told how the robotics ecosystem in Odense has supported MIR’s success.

SDU is about to invest 100 million DKK in new facilities and labs working with Industry 4.0 and digital automation, in order to develop the ecosystem and support industry. The participants at the MADE General Assembly and Event 2018 got an early insight on the plans for the future.
