Foundry used 3D print to shorten delivery time of customer specific orders with several weeks

O. Storm Sorensen Bronze Foundry produce everything from letters and numbers to birds, hearts and golf balls. Everything in bronze to be put on tombstones.

For several years, the foundry have had a difficult and time consuming production process if they want to create customer specific figures and symbols in bronze.

With the help from MADE and the Danish Technological Institute in Aarhus, O. Storm Sorensen and manager Karen Eriksen were introduced to 3D printing and scanning as a faster and better way of creating models.

"We are now much more flexible and we get much better products out of it. Previously, we had a delivery time of special products of 3-4 weeks. Now it is 3-4 days," Karen Eriksen tells about the result of the project.
